Digital Outreach
COVER, on behalf of Digital Outreach Ltd. is preparing people for the digital switchover which runs from September 2010 to November 2011. We are seeking CSOs to work with and help deliver this project, by holding events and presentations; and giving advice on how to switch over to digital TV across the Anglia TV region.
Local charities can apply though a small grants scheme (see below) to help set up and encourage these events. We can provide the necessary materials and advice. Thousands of people are expected to benefit from these events and they can be anything from a coffee morning or lunch club through to community meetings and exhibitions.
The organisations that we are looking to work with must be involved with end users or organisations working with the following:
Older people
• People who have sensory, mobility and/or dexterity impairments
• People who have learning disabilities
• People who have experienced mental health conditions
• People who do not have English as a first language
• People who are socially isolated
The Anglia regional digital switch over is happening in three stages for the three transmitters. Work with these groups will be carried out in those stages although training will be delivered in all areas at the same time.
Stage One - Sandy Health
• Cambridgeshire
• Northamptonshire
• Bedfordshire
• Northern Hertfordshire
Stage Two - Sudbury
• Southern Suffolk
• Essex
Stage Three - Tacolneston
• Northern Suffolk
• Norfolk
Small Grants Scheme
There is a small grants scheme available with a maximum grant of £500 for existing events and a maximum grant of £3,000 for specific pieces of work. Monitoring and evaluation will be carried out to keep Digital Outreach regularly informed about the impact of this work.
